Why keeping receipts can help you understand spending
The document you already produce and probably throw away.

Receipts often end up at the bottom of a bag or fading in a hot car. Keeping a few can give you a surprisingly useful record.

You do not need a finance app to start. Keep the evidence of your next few grocery shops.
What a receipt remembers
Memory rounds things. You remember the chicken, but perhaps not the soda or the three corner-store visits. A receipt may preserve time, store, product identifiers and totals.
Even an envelope in a drawer can become a small archive.
Three modest uses
- Prices. The same coffee jar on two dates gives you an observed price change.
- Repetition. An item appearing repeatedly may be part of a purchasing rhythm.
- Place. A convenience-store shop may serve a different purpose from a supermarket trip.
These are clues. They do not establish consumption, waste or motivation on their own.
Keep them without becoming an accountant
Photograph the receipt on a table with even light. Avoid flash that washes out thermal print. Create a phone album called “groceries.” Digital receipts are useful because they do not fade.
You do not need a folder for every store. You need to find the receipt again.
Where Lleno fits
The planned product will turn receipts into structured products, prices and purchase history. Today’s demo shows a sample of the experience; it does not process your own files.

This article describes a practice. It does not use survey data or claim a count of receipts issued in Mexico.
